🕊️ The Sacred Tradition: What is an Orthodox Tamata?

In Orthodox Christian practice, a Tama (Τάμα / plural: Tamata) is a small metal plaque offered to God, the Virgin Mary (Panagia), or military patron saints like Saint George, Saint Demetrius, and the Archangels:

• A Petition for Safe Return & Protection: This specific elongated soldier ex-voto is traditionally offered by families for loved ones serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, Fire Department, or special forces engaged in high-risk deployments and dangerous operations.
• A Token of Deep Gratitude: Tamata are not only used to ask for holy protection, but are also offered in profound thankfulness as a physical testimony for a soldier's safe return, survival in battle, or a miracle received during duty.
• An Offering at the Icons: Following a very old custom, the faithful hang these meaningful metal plaques directly onto the frames or stands of holy wonderworking icons in churches, monasteries, or home altars.

✨ Premium Features & Traditional Embossing

• Fine Embossed Details: The detailed depiction of the uniform and soldier silhouette is stamped with precision into the thin metal sheet, capturing the authentic aesthetic found in traditional Greek shrines.
