1. Fill your candle or vigil glass 1/2 to 2/3 full with tap water.
2. Pour pure olive oil or vegetable oil on top to form a layer roughly 1 to 2 cm deep. (The water layer prevents the glass from overheating and safely extinguishes the wick once the oil is consumed).
3. Insert one beeswax wick into the center hole of the triangular cork float, leaving a small tip (about 2–3 mm) visible above the surface.
4. Place the float onto the oil layer, allow a few moments for the base to absorb the oil, and light the top.
